People usually go for a general stores to buy basic goods and if there are any General stores that offer less prices you can see the crowd buzzing there. What if we get basic commodities, food items, sports gears, clothes (official and formal), electronics and what not under one roof, more number start turning up and what if half the city turns upto one single store that has 7 floors full of basic commodities at a very reasonable prices.......
Exactly, I was speaking about the Saravana Stores in the heart of Chennai, Thyagaraya Nagar also known an T.Nagar. This stores consists of all the items from hair pin to cell phone, from CD's to Laptop's of the best brands and what not at a reasonable prices and I had been there to get some basic commodities as I was told that i can get goods for some less prices and at a very good discount (and yes i got it)...
It was a saturday morning and after all the enquiries from my friends and colleagues i found out that Saravana Stores is the best place to buy things but i was warned there will be crowd and that i need to go early as the number of people entering the store will be less. I obeyed their orders and been to Saravana Store at around 11:30 am and you could see a crowd already present there (The store ususally opens at 11:00 am is what i heard)..... I did all my shopping (let's say) and paid the bill and came out after 30 minutes.....
I will explain this entire process in a mastercard Advertisement Style
Picking goods --> 10 minutes
Waiting in the line while the helpers pick the goods -->5 minutes
stacking them in a ploythene --> 5 minutes
Paying the bill --> 5 minutes
Collecting the goods --> 5 minutes
Getting out of the crowd --> Priceless
This happened and then i made a promise that i will not come to Saravana Stores for the coming 3 weeks and left the building..... But, unfortunately i had to come as i had to take a plastic jar and the cost of that jar which is rs 31/- in Saravan store is Rs. 70/- in the local market and so i had to choose the same Store again not only for that single item but also for some other commodities which i thought would get it from some other general stores.
It was a sunday evening and i entered the mall at 6:00 pm (people just see the timings) and i had to go to 7th floor to get the items, since climbing the stairs was a tough task we (me and my colleague) opted to take the Lift (Elevator). There were around 100 people before us waiting for the lift and so it took us almost 25 minutes to get our turn.... I didn't lose the hope and when my turn came i enetered the lift.... A lift which normally holds 20 people was holding the capapcity more than it's normal and then when i entered the lift i was pushed to a corner and thrashed like a potato in a pan... People were crushing my feet pulling my hands and what not..... finally i got down at 7th Floor did my shopping and brought goods worth Rs. 100/- (don't ask what did i get) ..... Now here is the actual part i had to go to 6th floor to get few other things and 4th floor for few other things.... This time i don't want to take the risk by getting into the lift instead i opted for Stairs so, when you leave the floor you have to bill that floor commodities and this was even more worse... The same old style for all the floors (7th, 6th and 4th)

By the time i came out of the building it was 8:15 pm.... I went to a hotel for dinner had some food and then reached home by 9:30pm.... Folks, whatever it is never go to Saravana Stores, Chennai on Sundays....
